poles up to the borehole. As can be seen, the power pales aed line will
be installed through a portion of the north facing reference area. The
trucks will be restricted to using the existing roads traversing the
reference area.
The borehole will enter the mine at the location shown on Map IV-2.
The borehole will be approximately 450 feet in depth, and cased for its
entire length. Therefore, no impacts to the hydrologic regime are
anticipated. A mobile substation may be installed nE~ar the borehole.
Support structure will be installed for the cable as it enters the
borehole. A pad approximately 100 feet square will be constructed at
the borehole site. Approximately 18 inches of soil is available for
salvage. This soil is of the Turret Series and identified by map unit
606. The soil will be stockpiled at the site. The stockpile will
contain approximately 550 yd3 of soil. The stockpile will be stabilized
as per the procedure described previously.
An existing road will be used to gain access to the site. This is
the road that provides access to Empire Village and the Okie Plaza well.
No new roads will be constructed into the borehole site.
cn n....t~i~
The 5A portals and associated facilities are located in the
highwall of an old strip pit. There are four portal entries at N5A, two
for intake air, and two for return. No coal is hauled out of the 5A
portals at this time.
Substation
(REU. 9/24/84)
IV-44q
