In order to understand the hietory~nd <br />statue of this particular pit, a chronology of the events ae documented in the <br />case file hoe been abstracted ae follore: <br />On October 12, 1979, a letter res sent to you stating that there roe no <br />objection 6y BLM for you to conduct testing of the gravel resource by <br />digging several pits rithin the area of the above stated land <br />description. <br />On November 1, 1979, a meoorandum roe sent to the Nontroee District <br />Manager from the Sen Juan Resource Area Manager recommending that the <br />Bureau process your request for purchase of gravel material Eros the <br />site. It roe identified at that time that Minerals Recovery Corporation <br />(NRC) had mining clams rhich covered that area and they rare entitled <br />to gravel material for use on end improvement of their mining claims. <br />It roe also stated that MRC could have to sign a raiver stating that <br />they had no objection to the disposal of aineral materials from the <br />site. <br />On November B, 1979, the Nontroee District Office sent a letter to NRC <br />outlining your proposal for the purchase of gravel, and requested they <br />sign end notarize an enclosed raiver form, and return the forty to the <br />Nontroee District Office. <br />Also, on November B, a letter rae sent to you from the Nontroee District <br />Office transmitting tro copies of the mineral materials contract form <br />far sand and gravel. The letter also requested that you submit a <br />detailed wining and reclamation plan rith your application. It roe <br />stated that the plan should include: 1) Legal Description, 2) <br />Topographic or sketch sap of the area, 3) Operating methods end tine <br />frames, 4) Reclamation methods and tine cranes, and 5) a copy of the <br />agreement betreen yourself and NRC. Nothing in our case file indicates <br />that you ever responded to the request. <br />a <br />
