It is recognized that there is insufficient topsoil and overburden located on Chen's Hill to evenly distribute 6 inches over the entire Chen's Hill disturbance. If money is available, additional topsoil and overburden will be transported from the East Pit area and will be paid by equipment rental. In reference to Task 5-West Slope Reduction Work Description shall be clarified by stating that the road located at the base of the slope can be eliminated in order to achieve the grading requirements. In reference to Task 6-West Slope Drainage Control is deleted in it's entirety. In reference to Task 9-North End Topsoil Replacement Measurement and Payment shall be modified to include the following; payment for Task 9 will be reflected in a lump sum bid under item 9. In reference to Task l0-East Pit Backfill Work Description shall be modified to include the following; the compaction requirements outlined in paragraph 2 must be followed provided it can be done safely. In reference to Task 11-East Pit Slope Reduction Work Description and Map 7 shall be modified to include the following; prior to grading down the east side of the pit, the top 1 foot of available topsoil will be stripped and stockpiled to the east north and south. Following topsoil removal and segregation, next 2 feet of available overburden will be stripped and stockpiled to the east north and south for use as a growth medium. Stripping operations will be required along the entire length of the East Pit above the Highwall as this area is currently undisturbed. Shrubs shall be grubbed out and placed in scattered piles along the perimeter of the disturbance. Trees shall be limbed, cut to a maximum length of 6 feet and stacked along the perimeter. Limbs shall be placed in piles along the perimeter of the disturbance along with the shrubs. The work description grading work area as measured from the east edge of the east pit highwall is modified as follows; A 200 foot setback from the edge of the east pit shall be allowed from the 950 north grid line to the 2200 north grid line for facilitat topsoil and growth medium salvage and grading of the east pit highwall.
