Climate and Air Quality
The applicant uses best available current technology to
reduce dust on roads and to suppress coal dust produced by
the coal crusher. The Bear Coal Company is not creating an
adverse impact on the quality of the air in the area.
Vegetation
This action will not disturb the vegetation in the proposed
mining plan approval area. No impacts will occur with
approval of this mining plan.
Wildlife
The mining plan approval area does not
disturbance. Production levels and the
increase. No
important impacts to the surface water system will occur.
An increase in the surface water is not expected by this
action.
Ground Water Hvdrology
Subsidence effects on the ground water were analyzed by MLRD
for the mining of the B coal seam and found to be minimal.
No water has yet been encountered in the Bear No. 3 Mine.
No seeps or springs are located above the workings or in the
area to be subsided. No important aquifers have been
identified by drilling. No impacts are anticipated.
Based on the assessment of cumulative hydrologic impacts and
probable hydrologic consequences of the proposed operations,
the mining and reclamation operations will not result in a
substantial loss or reduction of long-range productivity of
the water supply in the area including aquifers and aquifer
recharge areas.
Soils
No new surface disturbance will occur with this approval.
There will be no impact on the soils.
12
