' from the Greasewood Compressor Station before it enters Collins Gulch. It then
progresses south along Collins Gulch (a distance of 3.5 miles), crosses Rio Blanco
' County Road 5 for a second time, and crosses Piceance Creek again.
The pipeline corridor then crosses a small ridge into Stewart Gulch (a distance of
1 mile). As it follows the valley bottom, the pipeline corridor crosses Stewart
Gulch twice and Middle Fork Stewart Gulch once (over a distance of 1.5 miles). It
then crosses an unimproved private road and begins its ascent of Barnes Ridge,
' progressing essentially due south.
After traveling along the top of Barnes Ridge (a distance of 7 miles), the pipeline
corridor turns east for approximately one-half mile and crosses Dry Fork Stewart
Gulch to the next ridge. It then continues southward and crosses into the
' Parachute Creek drainage basin and on to Davis Point (a distance of 8 miles).
At Davis Point, the Yankee Gulch Project pipeline corridor diverges from the
' three-party ngl right-of-way and heads down the east slope of Davis Point (a
distance of 1 mile). It crosses another unimproved private road and then crosses
the Middle Fork Parachute Creek and follows the creek south along the valley
' bottom for approximately 2 miles. The pipeline corridor crosses another
unimproved private road near the existing Unocal offices and then crosses the
East Fork Parachute Creek before continuing south. It stays east of County Road
' 215 for approximately 3.5 miles before crossing it and continuing its southward
progression for another 5 miles, ending at the Parachute Site.
' The Yankee Gulch Project includes approximately 20 miles of pipeline corridor
on public land administered by the BLM and approximately 24 miles on private
lands. Land ownership is listed by county in Table 1. Approximately 34 miles of
' the 44-mile-long Yankee Gulch Project pipeline corridor parallel existing
pipeline corridors. The general categories of land ownership near the pipeline
corridor are illustrated on Figure 1-2.

1
l~

1

1
Table 1 Land Ownership Status
County Federal Land (miles) Private Land (miles)
Rio Blanco County 20 5
Garfield County 0 19
Total (44) 20 24
The specific dimensions of the Yankee Gulch Project pipeline right-of-way
(ROW) on BLM-administered lands will be included in the respective
authorizing documents.
