1
1
• Piceance South Site (Spread 2) - (mile 8 to mile 33): This spread will
' include the pipeline route from the Greasewood Compressor station south to the
bottom of Davis Point. This spread will include over half the entire length of the
pipeline. The laydown area for this spread will be situated near the entrance to
' the second Piceance Creek crossing, either on private property or on BLM
property near the mouth of Collins Gulch.
' • Parachute Site (Spread 3) - (mile 33 to mile 44): This spread will include the
pipeline route from the Parachute Site north to Davis Point. The laydown area
' for this spread will be situated at or near the Parachute Site.
Preliminary work components are listed in Table 3 for each of the three spreads.
Centerline surveys and detailed pipeline design may result in variations in these
quantities.
' Construction of the three spreads will occur concurrently, with an anticipated
total of 0.5 to 0.75 mile of pipelir~~ completed per day across all three construction
spreads, depending on terrain conditions and ROW restrictions. It is anticipated
' that work restriction hours could be in place within portions of the alignment.
These and other restrictions should be listed in the EIS. The overall construction
period, including hydrostatic testing, is proposed as 120 to 150 days.
'
The work force is anticipated to include approximately 20 to 50 people per spread.
The pipeline construction crews will utilize many different skilled laborers
' including surveyors, equipment operators, and pipe welders. American Soda
will use local or non-local contractors/subcontractors according to the equipment
and personnel needs of the project. American Soda anticipates that a large
' percentage of the work force will be from Colorado, although workers from
various parts of the country may be required.
' 3.1.3 Right-of-Way Surveys
Surveying and survey station staking will take place after BLM representatives
' perform a field review of preliminary line-of-sight flagging or staking. The BLM
will indicate preliminary acceptance of the route alignment as staked/flagged or
will reach an agreement with American Soda on an alternate route complying
' with changes required by the EIS, if necessary.
' ROW staking will indicate the ROW centerline, ROW boundaries, temporary
use areas, cultural resources sites, and environmentally sensitive areas. Staking
of the different use areas will be marked with different color combinations of
' flagging as listed in Table 4.
' PipeLrie Womuoon summary 7
Yankee Gulch Sodium M~Krals Pmjecr
' American Soda, L.L.P.
