23. Sediment Pond Spillways - The three sets of spillways for the
<br />t ree East mine sediment ponds are shown as items 5, 12, and 47
<br />on Exhibit 3A and include all standpipes, dewatering devices,
<br />piping or tubing, associated valves, and the concrete u-shaped
<br />spillways situated across the top of the pond embankment. Type
<br />and extent of reinforcing used in the concrete is unknown, as
<br />well as the thickness of the bottom spillway slab.
<br />24. Drainage Control Culverts - Culverts to be removed are shown as
<br />items 4, 7, 14, 15, 49, and 53 on Exhibit 3A.

<br />25. Miscellaneous Materials and Debris - The East mine area of the
<br />Hawk s Nest Mine contains a large quantity of miscellaneous
<br />mining related equipment, parts, materials, supplies, and
<br />debris scattered within the working area limits delineated on
<br />Exhibit 3A. Some of these items are within, adjacent to, or
<br />otherwise associated with specific structures to be removed and
<br />have been described above in Section III.2.2.C, items 1 - 24 of
<br />the Special Conditions. However, a substantial quantity of
<br />mining related materials are scattered throughout the mine site
<br />on the surface partially buried, or completely buried. The
<br />western portion of the mine site was used as a materials
<br />storage area or "bone yard" and has the largest concentration
<br />of miscellaneous mining related items. Miscellaneous materials
<br />include such items as timbers, boards, wood poles, metal and
<br />plastic pipe or tubing, rubber hoses, electrical cable, motors,
<br />pumps, valves, tubing, chain, sheet and plate steel, structural
<br />steel, cast iron, equipment, parts and supplies, plastic and
<br />fabric tarps, fencing and fence posts, tools, concrete masonry
<br />blocks, culverts, chain, barrels, boxes, buckets and garbage.
<br />2.3 Measurement and Payment
<br />No measurement for payment shall be made for structural demolition and
<br />removal. Payment shall be for the lump sum bid price established on the
<br />Bid Schedule for each bid item listed. The price bid shall include all of the
<br />CONTRACTOR'S cost of whatever nature to provide complete structural demolition
<br />and removal in accordance with the plans and specifications, including
<br />demolition or dismantlement, complete removal from the project site if
<br />salvaged, and placement and burial on site or hauling to and dumping in the
<br />Hawk's Nest refuse disposal area pit adjacent to the Delta County Landfill
<br />site.
