-2-
•
As per the resolutions of the previously approved mining plan, we continue to progress
from the south end of the dike in a northwest to southwest angular vertical cut.
This removal process continues to screen the main crushing operation from the view
of residences to the east. All setbacks and safety precautions continue to comply
with the operational plan as previously submitted to the Colorado Mined Reclamation
Board.
Water Turbidity; Water turbidity testing is continuing under the l:ibor:~COry analysis
work of Coors Spectro Chemical Laboratories when applicable. When turbidity tests
are run, the results are forwarded to the Denver Water Board. Be advised that no
testing was done this past year, due to not having any circumstances requiring such
testing. There are no new water sources used either for mining or reclamation.
Any new sources will be identified upon their use. It is important to note that
Asphalt Paving Co. has not received one negative comment regarding water from the
Denver Water Department.
As previously reported, Asphalt Paving Co. and the Denver Water hoard have consumated
a water purchase agreement allowing water to be obtained from Upper long Lake for
ouractivites at Ralston Quarry. A water line from the lake to the crushing and
processing areas in the quarry has been installed and is in use. '1'liis installation
is a major improvement.
This new water line allows uninterrupted water acquisition from a c•oinplerely controlled
source. This in turn enables Asphalt Paving Co. to insure water distribution through-
out the quarry operation. This Facility now provides complete control of the needed
water to operate Ralston Quarry with an acceptable degree of professionalism as
well as the strong, established commitment Asphalt Paving Co. leas to .lefferson County.
Air Quality: Asphalt Paving Co. continues to recognize its ohiiratinn to comply
with the applicable air quality standards and regulations set by tlic Colorado Air
Quality Control Commission. Asphalt Paving Co. continues to hold all appropriate
permits which have been issued for its operation and will work towar,l compliance
with state standards. We have not received any air quality violation notices from
any agencies. Our superintendent is instructed to notify Jefferson County if he
anticipates any "upset" conditions.
Hours of Operation: The hours of operation, 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through
Saturday, with only repair work permitted on Sunday, continues to Ise the rule of
our operations. No complete crusher system has been operated prior to 6:00 a.m.
or after 6:00 p.m. All crushers, screening plants and conveyors m-e of the portable
type. All efforts have been made by in-house maintenance personnel to equip our
equipment with the latest noise reducing suppresent equipment.
All air track drills and compressors are of recent model and incorpora~~ the manu-
facturers' latest technology. The air track drills and compressor combinations
have operated between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and b:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
It has not been necessary to blast prior to 8:00 a.m. not after 5:00 I~.m. because
of emergency conditions. Asphalt Paving Co. continues to recognize its obligation
• to notify the Board of Adjustment or its agents should these time restricitons be
exceeded in the event of emergency or unforeseen delays. Asphai[ ~'oving Co. has
not double-shifted any of its crushing operations during [he paG[ vr:n- and has not
found it necessary to give 20 days notice to the Jefferson County 7,e,ning Administration,
