a <br />F. Select materials have been stockpiled on site for reclamation of the sedimentation pond <br />and diversion ditches. The Division makes no approvals of altemative methods to <br />vegetation protection [4.06.3(2)(a)]. <br />G. The Division makes no approval of alternative treatments to eliminate slippage <br />surfaces, relieve compaction, and provide for root penetration [4.06.4(1)]. <br />V. Sealing of Drilled Holes and Underground Openings <br />A. The applicant has not proposed to manage development, exploration, drill or bore holes, <br />wells or other exposed underground openings in a manner other than by sealing and <br />plugging (4.07.1). All openings but one have been sealed, plugged, or eliminated by <br />reclamation landscaping or having been mined through. <br />B. A capped and valved drainage pipe from the underground mine portal remains in place. <br />No protection of this steel pipe is approved by the Division (4.07.2). <br />C. The Division will require that the remaining opening be capped, sealed, backfilled, or <br />otherwise properly managed (4.07.3). <br />VI. Use of Explosives <br />There is no proposed use of explosives at the site during the ensuing term of the permit. Thus <br />the Division makes no approvals relating to 4.08.3(2)(b)(v) and 4.08.4(2), 4.08.4(7), and <br />4.08.6(2). <br />VII. Disposal of Excess Spoil <br />A. There is no proposed disposal of excess spoil during the ensuing term of the permit. <br />The Division makes no approvals relating to 4.09.1(1), 4.09.1(2), 4.09.1(3), 4:09.1(4), <br />4.09.1(6), and 4.09.1(9), 4.09.4, 4.09.4(2), and 4.09.4(5). <br />B. There is no proposed disposal of excess spoil in underground mine workings. However, <br />disposal of coal mine wastes underground was approved during previous terms of the <br />permit. The disposal had been approved by MSHA and the Division [4.09.1(15)]. <br />VIII. Coal Mine Waste Banks <br />There is no proposed disposal of coal mine waste during the ensuing term of the petTrtit. <br />However, the disposal of coal mine wastes was approved in a proposed waste pile and <br />underground during previous terms of the permit. The surface waste sites were never <br />developed. See Paragraph VII.B. above. The Division makes no approvals relating to <br />4.10.1(1), 4.10.1(2), 4.10.2(1), 4.10.3(5), 4.10.4(3)(a), and 4.10.4(5). <br />16 <br />03/06/00 <br />
