1
Banks and Gesso, LLC
' S.2 Adjacent Properties and Uses
Immediately to the north of the subject property are parcels that include
' agricultural use. To the immediate east is the South Platte River and a
combination of active and reclaimed sand and gravel mines. To the south is the
' alignment of E-470. To the west is Riverdale Road and then agricultural and
rural residential land uses plus a County owned landfill and target range.
'
5.3 Sand and Gravel Deposit Description
' The subject properties contain a significant and commercial sand and gravel
mineral deposit. Attachment "B" is a copy of the "Atlas of Sand, Gravel, and
' Quarry Aggregate Resources Colorado Front Range Counties, Special
Publication 5-8"prepared by the Colorado Geological survey with the Brighton
' Quadrangle showing the subject property. The subject is designated in the
classification of F-4 which is a floodplain deposit and a "probable aggregate
' resource". CAMAS Colorado, Inc. has conducted a drilling and testing program
on the subject and find it to contain a commercial quality sand and gravel
' deposit. This drilling and testing confirmed the CGS findings. This amount of
reserves will extend the life of the Brighton Mine by approximately 7 years.
1
5.4 Mine Plan
' The subject properties will be mined to blend with the existing pit to the north.
Adequate setbacks from the South Platte River have been incorporated into the
' plan. The mine will be dry mined with excess water being pumped out of the
excavation. The pit run material will be placed on a conveyor and/or haul truck
' and will be transported to the existing plant for processing. A portion of the
deposit, that lying in the most westerly portion of the land, is suitable for
' construction fill purposes. This material will be mined and sold as construction fill
for the building of E-470. If the fill is not utilized for E-470, the western limit of
' mining will be further to the east.

Brighton Mine Conditional Use Permit rJ 20007WD
' CAMAS Colorado, INC.
