4.0 STRUCTURAL AND ELECTRICAL UTILITIES DEMOLITION AND REMOVAL <br />4.1 Description <br />This specification covers all work required to demolish, raze, or <br />otherwise dismantle and dispose of all structures, facilities, and <br />electrical utilities listed under 4.2.B below. Structures and facilities <br />are shown on drawing sheets 1 through 6 of 9; electrical utilities are <br />shown on drawing sheets 1 and 2 of 9. <br />4.2 Execution <br />A. Salvage <br />The CONTRACTOR is allowed salvage rights to all mining related structures, <br />facilities, mining equipment, parts, supplies and materials remaining <br />within the Sunlight mine working area limits at the time structural <br />demolition activities begin. Salvage rights are also allowed for all <br />mine electrical power and lighting system poles, wires, fixtures, and any <br />other electrical equipment which is not the property of the utility <br />company.and which is specified for removal on the attached drawings. The <br />OWNER does represent of guarantee that any of the items remaining on the <br />project site at the time of the pre-bid meeting will be on the site at the <br />time structural demolition and removal operations begin. The OWNER is not <br />responsible for any subsequent unauthorized removal from the site, movement <br />of, or damage to any of the structures, facilities and/or mining related <br />materials which were in place at the time of the on-site pre-bid meeting. <br />The CONTRACTOR shall understand that the dollar amount bid for demolition <br />and removal of each item listed in the bid schedule shall consist of the <br />total cost of demolition or dismantling plus removal or disposal and less <br />the anticipated value of salvageable items that are anticipated to be on <br />site at the time structural demolition operations begin. No additional <br />payment will be made above the price bid on account of any salvageable <br />portions of structures or other salvageable items having been removed, <br />moved around, or damaged. Any salvageable items dished to be taken from <br />structures that are not specified for demolition shall be removed from the <br />structure(s) only in accordance with the following conditions: <br />1. Items shall be removed in such a manner that does not reduce the <br />existing structural integrity or stability of the structure; <br />2. Any structures that are partially dismantled or otherwise altered <br />in order to remove salvageable items must either be reconstructed <br />to their previous configuration and level of structural stability <br />or completely demolished down to surface grade and removed/disposed of <br />in accordance with the requirements of Section 4.2.B.1 below. <br />B. Demolition and Removal <br />The CONTRACTOR shall demolish or dismantle, remove from the mine site if <br />salvaged, or dispose of on site or at an approved landfill operation all <br />of the following structures, utilities and materials in accordance with <br />the specifications set forth in items 1 through 6 below. In no case <br />shall any materials be left on the surface of or outside the working area <br />limits, unless authorized by the PROJECT MANAGER. <br />- 9 - <br />
