RE: Renewal of Summit County Condltlonal Use Pennlt and Amendments <br />for Maryland Creek Ranch Sand and Gravel <br />V isual Impact <br />All buildings have been constructed as per approved building permits. All buildings and <br />structures on site have been built and painted to blend as harmoniously as possible with the <br />surcounding landscape. The aggregate processing plants are dark green and the buildings are <br />tan and dark green. <br />Lighting has been added and directed as per the December 1998 amendment to prevent glare <br />from traveling off of the property. <br />The landscape screening berm has been vegetated and a sprinkler system has been installed to <br />insure gro~Mh. Tree and shrub clusters have been planted along the eastern boundary, along <br />the highway as per the approved landscape plan. <br />The undulations have been created in Cells 1 and 2 as required by Summit County. Cell 3 is <br />being mined and concurrently reclaimed with the approved undulations and landscaping. All <br />undulatior~s constructed with a 4:1 slope, and all other lakeshores have at least a 3:1 slope, as <br />per the August 1999 amendment. All shorelines have at least 20% undulations and a 50-foot <br />setback from the Highway 9 right-of-way easement, as was amended in December 1998. <br />Noise Impacts <br />No explosives are used on site. There is no blasting. Noise from on-site processing and truck <br />hauling does not exceed the state noise standards, and we have had no complaints from our <br />neighbors. <br />Wildlife Impact Mitigation <br />Trash is disposed of properly by a waste management company. Trash is discarded into <br />dumpsters which are regularly emptied by the waste management company. <br />No dogs or cats have been allowed within the permit mining boundary. <br />Odors <br />The mining operation and all associated uses are in compliance with and do not emit odorous <br />air contaminants which would result in detectable odors off-site. <br />Miscellaneous Standards and Mitigation <br />We are in compliance with all miscellaneous standards and mitigation. <br />The operation produces no vibrations perceptible along the property line. <br />Safety signs with on-site rules and off-site conduct and driving are located at the entrance and <br />exit to the site. Other safety signs, warnings, and traffic signs are distributed throughout the site <br />and on the processing plants and equipment. <br />Lockable gates have been installed along Highway 9 and the fences are maintained around the <br />Ranch property. <br /> <br />LM/MCR-o~prenewal-summit-070201.tloc :i <br />
