The Division has estimated the volume of material to be moved
(Exhibit i). However, bidders are responsible for making their own
volume determinations. Payment will be full compensation for all
labor, material, equipment, and all other items necessary to
complete this bid item as specified.
TASK 6. TOPSOIL REPLACEMENT
DESCRIPTION
Topsoil will be replaced on the Orphan Pit and associated highwalls
and in the Red Rock'area. There are three topsoil stockpiles
approximately 1800 feet south of the Orphan Pit (Map 2A). These
stockpiles contain approximately 4500 cubic yards of material. In
addition, all topsoil encountered during the grading should be
stripped in advance from the drainage east of the highwall and from
the higher area of the northeast portion of the Orphan Pit area.
This topsoil is to be placed on the regraded area at a minimum depth
of six inches (6"), beginning along the covered west side highwall
and working along the contours of the steepest regraded areas until
this material is totally used. Topsoil material salvaged from the
point area shall be re-spread over the reworked point area. If any
is left after a six inch (6") depth is replaced, it shall be placed
to a depth of twelve inches (12") on the steepest remaining areas of
the regraded pit.
All tipple waste material must be covered with a minimum of twelve
inches (12") of material from the point and northeast area, in
conjunction with topsoil from the topsoil stockpile areas. The
twelve inches (12") of cover includes any topsoil replaced over the
other fill material.
MEASUREMENT AND PAXMENT
There will be no measurement for payment for Sid Item 6. Payment
for this item shall be reflected in a lump-sum price, under Item 6.
Payment will be full compensation for all labor, material,
equipment, and all other items necessary to complete this bid item
as specified.
TASK 7. REVEGETATION
DESCRIPTION
This specification covers preparing the areas for seeding and for
furnishing and placing seed, fertilizers, and soil amendments on the
designated areas as specified. The 19.15 acres of areas disturbed
during reclamation work which are to be revegetated include any
unarmored drainages, the re-disturbed tipple area, the footprint of
-16-
