For improved control of listed weeds plus addidonal weeds, it is recom-
mended that BANVEL be applied in a tank mix with other herbicides.
Alfalfa (1) Clover Lambsquarters, Common
Bedstraw, Catchweed Cockle, White Lettuce, Prickly
Bindweed, Field Dock, Broadleaf Mayweed (Dogfennel)
Buttercup, Com Dock, Curly Ragwort, Tansy
Buttercup, Creeping Hemlock, Poison Sortel, Red
Buttercup, Western Field Knapweed, Russian (1) (Sheep Sorrel)
Catchfly, Nigh(flowering Knawel Sow[histle, Annual
Chamomile, Cam Kochia Starwort, Little
Chickweed, Common Kno[weed, Prostrate Thistle, Canada (1)
Chickweed, Mouseear Ladysthumb
Nighuhade, Silverleaf Thistle, Canada (2)
Redvine Thistle, Milk
Smartweed, Swamp Thistle, Musk
Sowthistle, perennial (1) Thistle, Plumeless
Spurge, leafy Thistle, Scotch
Thistle Bull Tmmpetcreeper (Buckvine)
•
(1) Top growth conmol only.
RATES AND TIMINGS
Apply 4c to 1 pint of BANVEL per treated acre on SEEDLING GRASS after
the crop reaches the 3-5 leaf stage. Apply up to 2 pine of BANVEL on well-
established Perennial grass. DO NOT APPLY AFTER THE GRASS SEED CROP
BEGINS TO JOINT. For best performance, make applications when weeds are
in [he 2-4 leaf stage and rosettes are Tess than 2 inches across. Use the higher
level of listed rate ranges when treating more mature weeds or dense vegetative
growth.
TANK MIX TREATMENTS
For control of grasses or additional broadleafweeds, BANVEL may be lank mined
with all broadleaf herbicides registered for use in Grass Seed Production. Read
and follow the Zabel of each tank mix product used for precaationary statements,
directions for use, weeds controlled and geographic and other restrictions.
BROADCAST RATE PER 7REATED ACRE:
Apply 4x to 2 pints BANVEL with

Product
Active Ingredient
Formulation Amount o!
product Per Acre
2,4-D 2,4-D 416/gal I-0pts (.5-2.016 a.iJA)(1)
Amine or Ester
MCPA Amine MCPA 4Ib/gal I-2 pe (.5-1.016 a.ilAxl)
Buctril® bromoxynil (2) 2 Ib/gal 1-2 pts
Curailn clopymlid+2,4-D 2.3816/gal I$-0pe
Kornai diuron (2) 80% DF 2-416s
Stinger° clopymlid 3 Ib/gal 4a-1 pt
(1) When using formulations other than 4Ib/gal use pounds active/acre listed.
(2) Herbicides with the same common name and/or differem formuladons may be used.
ANNUAL GRASS CONTROL
For suppression of ANNUAL GRASS WEEDS such as:
Brome, Downy (Cheatgmss)
Brome, Ripgm
Fescue, Rattail
Windgmss
Apply up to 4 pints of BANVEL per treated acre in dre fall or late summer after
harvest and burning of established grass seed crops. (See RATES AND TIMINGS under this heading.)
(2) See the SPECIAL TANK MIX 7REATMEMS section under this heading for specific
control programs for these weeds.
RATES AND TIMINGS
Apply BANVEL as a broadcast or spot treatment to emerged and actively growing
weeds after crop harvest (post harvest) and before a killing frost or in the fallow
cropland or crop stubble the following spring or summer. Agriculturally approved
spray additives, such as surfactanu or oils, may be used to enhance spray coverage
and the herbicide's penetration of weed foliage. See Cropping restrictions for
recommended interval between application and planting to prevent crop injury.
For best performance, make application when ANNUAL weeds are less than 6
inches tall, when BIENNIAL weeds are in the rosette stage and to PERENNIAL
weed regrowth in late summer or fall following a mowing or tillage treatment.
Most effective control of upright perennial broadleafweeds, such as Canada thistle
and Jerusalem artichoke, occurs ifapplication is made when the majority ofweeds,
such as field bindweed and hedge bindweed, are in or beyond [he full bloom stage.
Avoid disturbing [mated areaz following application. Treannents may m[ kill
weeds which develop from seed or underground plant parts, such as rhizomes or
bulblets, after the effective period for BANVEL. For seedling control, afollow-up
program or other cultural practices could be instituted.
