'~
daily. A maximum of 30,000 cu.yds. may be backfilled into the Orphan pit
during the next year. The backfill volume of the North Orphan put should
sustain the Newlin Creek operation throughout the five (5) year permit term.
The general operational plans for transporting and placing the material is
explicitly developed through a mutual agreement between Harrison-Peltron and
G.E.C. Minerals. Harrison-Peltron shall transport development waste from the
Newlin Creek mine site and deposit and grade the material into the abandoned
surface mines. G.E.C. Minerals will then cover, prepare the seedbed and
revegetate the area.
Backfilling volume in the surface mines is planned to be apportioned between
G.E.C. and Harrison-Peltron. Harrison-Peltron anticipates most of the
backfilling material will originate from the Newlin Creek mine. The volume of
the material shall be limited to the available capacity restricted by the
practical operational procedures and compatibility with environmental
standards approved by Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board for this specific
project.
The general requirements for the backfilling of the Orphan pit-shall adhere to
(1) A maximum crown after 10$ conslidation would result in a slope not
exceeding 1v:lOh. (2) The crown shall be placed near the area of maximum pit
depth. (3) A maximum 10$ material compaction and; (4) A fill limit of four
(4)-foot minimum bench from the fill to the outer limit of the pit. The crown
shall be left far natural settlement of the material to approximate the
original premining slope and all material shall be placed and graded from the
existing access.
No constructed access or ancillary disturbances are presently anticipated to
be required during the backfilling of the Orphan pit or North Orphan pit. Any
additional construction or disturbance in which Harrison-Peltron is directly
responsible shall be removed and/or reclaimed by Harrison-Peltron.
The general requirements of rule 4.14 are outlined below:
4.14.1(1) Timing
The deposited material shall be regarded and placed by a small
dozer when an adequate amount of material is in place to
