saltbush, and intermediate wheatgrass with 18.4%, 13.9%, and 2.6% average cover, respectively. This
unit fails the revegetation success critedon of 90% of the Shadscale Reference Area value when both
annual and perennial cover values are combined. However, it passes when only perennial cover is
compared.
The 2002 Seeding of the Cameo RDA No. 1 currently passes only two of the four diversity
standards. There is sufficient cover of perennial cool-season grasses to pass the required minimum
values, and there are no planted species with greater than 70% relative cover. However, the present
relative cover of perennial warm-season grasses (0.25%) and perennial forbs or sub-shrubs (0%) is
insufficient to pass the required minimum values (2.0% and 0.5%, respectively).
3.14 Cameo RDA No. 2 - 2002 Seeding
Ground cover of the 2002 Seeding of the Cameo RDA No. 2 consisted of 39.1% live vegetation,
10.5% rock, 31.4% litter, and bare soil exposure of 19.0%. Perennial cover across the unit averaged
15.4% (down from the 29.2% observed in 2001 from the RDA slopes) with annual and biennial cover
averaging 23.7% (up from 15.1% in 2001 -also from the slopes). Dominant taxa were cheatgrass,
founving saltbush, and greasewood with 23.1%, 11.2%, and 2.8% average cover, respectively. This unit
fails the revegetation success criterion of 90% of the Shadscale Reference Area value when both annual
and perennial cover values are combined.
