annual and biennial cover averaging 35.2%. Dominant taxa were cheatgrass, fourwing saltbush, and
snakeweed (Gutierrezia saroth~ae) with 35.1%, 10.7%, and 3.4% average cover, respectively. This unit
fails the revegetation success criterion of 90% of the Greasewood Reference Area value when both
annual and perennial cover values are combined. It also fails when only perennial cover is compared.
The Cameo Borrow Area No. 1 currently passes three of the four diversity standards. There is
sufficient cover of perennial forbs or sub-shrubs and perennial cool-season grasses to pass the required
minimum values, and there are no planted species with greater than 70°k relative cover. However, the
present relative cover of perennial warm-season grasses (0.76%) is insufficient to pass the required
minimum value (2.0%).
3.7 Substation B
~ Ground cover of the Substation B area consisted of 39.9% live vegetation, 8.9% rock, 9.5% litter,
and bare soil exposure of 41.7%. Perennial cover across the unit averaged 20.7% with annual and
biennial cover averaging 19.2%. Dominant taxa were cheatgrass, forage kochia, Russian wildrye
(PSathyrostachys junceus), and fourwing salthush with 18.0%, 8.3%, 3.1%, and 2.2% average cover,
respectively. This unit fails the revegetation success criterion of 90% of the Shadscale Reference Area
value when both annual and perennial cover values are combined. However, it passes when only
~ perennial cover is compared.
The Substation B area currently passes all four diversity standards. Perennial cover across the unit averaged 12.1% with annual and
biennial cover averaging 9.5%. Dominant taxa were cheatgrass, shadscale, fourwing saltbush, and
rubber rabbitbrush (ChrysoUramnus nauseosus) with 9.4%, 5.6%, 1.4%, and 1.3% average cover,
respectively. This unit fails the revegetation success criterion of 90% of the Shadscale Reference Area
value when both annual and perennial cover values are combined.
