3.4 Cameo Borrow Area No. 2
Ground cover of the Cameo Borrow Area No. 2 consisted of 44.2% live vegetation, 6.8% rock,
29.7% litter, and bare soil exposure of 19.3%. Perennial cover across the unit averaged 22.1% with
annual and biennial cover also averaging 22.1%. Dominant taxa were cheatgrass, fourwing saltbush,
forage kochia, and greasewood with 22.0%, 9.7%, 8.7%, and 3.2% average cover, respectively. This
unit fails the revegetation success criterion of 90% of the Greasewood Reference Area value when both
annual and perennial cover values are combined. However, it passes when only perennial cover is
compared.
The Cameo Borrow Area No. 2 currently passes only two of the four diversity standards. There is
sufficient cover of perennial forbs or sub-shrubs to pass the required minimum values, and there are no
planted species with greater than 70% relative cover. However, the present relative cover of perennial
warm-season grasses (0%) and perennial cool-season grasses (0.45%) is insufficient to pass the
required minimum values (2.0% and 0.5%, respectively).
3.5 Cameo Topsoil Piles
Ground cover of the Cameo Topsoil Piles consisted of 54.0% live vegetation, 7.0% rock, 30.8%
litter, and bare soil exposure of 8.2°k. Perennial cover across the unit averaged 17.5% with annual and
biennial cover averaging 36.5%. Dominant taxa were cheatgrass, fourwing saltbush, little barley
(Criterion pusi//um), and shadscale with 29.3%, 15.3%, 7.1%, and 1.5% average cover, respectively.
This unit fails the revegetation success criterion of 90% of the Greasewood Reference Area value when
both annual and perennial cover values are combined.
