The portal was <br /> located within the existing "D" portal facilities area, and did not entail additional surface <br /> disturbance. <br /> TR-47 proposed approval decision was issued August 11, 1997. The revision allowed for <br /> termination of surface water monitoring on ephemeral drainages within the permit area. <br /> TR-48 proposed approval decision was issued November 10, 1998. The revision addressed <br /> issues raised by the Division's March 5, 1997, mid-term permit review. Modifications <br /> included changes and clarifications to the approved permit with respect to the mining plan, <br /> drainage control, hydrologic impact evaluation and monitoring, wildlife monitoring, topsoil <br /> and refuse cover soil replacement, revegetation seedmix, revegetation success demonstration, <br /> and cultural resources survey. <br /> TR-49 proposed approval was issued June 1, 1998. The revision allowed for construction of <br /> an exhausting return air shaft and access road associated with the "B" seam mine workings. <br /> TR-50 proposed approval was issued May 5, 1999. The revision allowed for construction of a <br /> second exhausting return ventilation shaft to the "B" seam workings, and an associated light <br /> use road. <br /> Minor Revisions <br /> MR-107 was submitted to the Division on February 24, 1997 and deemed complete on that <br /> date. The revision addressed drilling of up to three methane de-gas wells. The revision was <br /> withdrawn on May 6, 1997. <br /> MR-108 proposed approval was issued on April 14, 1997. The revision addressed remedial <br /> revegetation of Refuse Area RP-1, due to cheatgrass infestation and poor perennial <br /> establishment. The entire RP-1 reclaimed acreage was disked in the spring of 1997, and <br /> reseeded in the fall of 1997. <br /> MR-109 proposed approval was issued on September 25, 1997. The revision allowed for the <br /> drilling of four methane degassification holes and associated temporary roads over "D" seam <br /> Longwall Panel 11. <br /> MR-110 proposed approval was issued on December 19, 1997. The revision allowed for the <br /> drilling of two development holes within a previously disturbed area adjacent to the refuse haul <br /> road near the "D" Portal facilities area. <br /> 5 <br />
