(Item 1)
- The liming agent will be mixed to a depth of 20 inches. (Item 1)
3. After ripping the three sloping sides of the tailings embankment will be
covered by a 3 to 4 inch layer of stockpiled topsoil. (Item 1)
4. Additional lime and fertilizer will be incorporated into the topsoil by raking
and harrowing to a depth of 5 additional tons per acre, while nitrogen,
phosphorus, and potassium will probably be applied at a rate of between 400
and 500 pounds per acre during the final preparatory work. A seed mixture
containing both native grasses and introduced species will then be planted at a
rate of around 40 pounds per acre by hydroseeding, or by employing a Briton
grass seeder.
