Ames continued excavation of the OSA geomembrane anchor trench in the western portion of Phase
Nc on Chickenhawk Hill, Saddle Fill, and Raven Hill, excavating and backfilling approximately 200
linear feet of anchor trench in prepazation for geomembrane deployment activities.
Ames hauled, placed, and compacted Soil Liner Fill (SLF) material into the Phase Nc OSA in the
central portion of the VLF. SLF material was tested, conditioned, reworked, retested, and maintained
prior to SLF surface acceptance.
Ames continued production of bentonite-amended SLF at the screen and pug mill plant located above
the Ames materials yard. Ames also continued production of Drain Cover Fill (DCF) material at the
screen plant located neaz the secondary crusher.
Poly-Flex continued deployment of 80-mil single-sided textured LLDPE geomembrane in the Phase
Nc OSA. Geomembrane was placed in the Phase Nc OSA on the south-facing slope of the Saddle Fill
area and onto the southwest facing slope of Raven Hill. Poly-Flex deployed 80-mil single-sided
textured LLDPE geomembrane over an azea of approximately 195,028 squaze feet in the Phase Nc
OSA during this reporting period. Geomembrane panels C-237 through C-303 were deployed, seamed,
and tested by Poly-Flex. Destructive fusion and extrusion seam samples DFc-083 through DFc-102 and
DXc-OS through DXc-10 were mazked and removed. Destructive fusion and extrusion seam peel and
shear tests on 80-mil single-sided textured LLDPE geomembrane samples-DFc-061 through DFc-75; -- ~° •-
DFc-091, and DXc-OS through DXc-10 were tested during this reporting period and passed per project
specifications.
Ames continued placement and grading of DCF material into the Phase Nc OSA, on the west area of
the VLF on Chickenhawk Hill. Ames placed DCF material onto approved geomembrane panels and
High Volume Solution Collection (HVSC) piping per the project plans.
A map of the area worked during this reporting period is provided in Attachment C.
Field Monitoring and Testing Activities
Golder observed construction activities associated with Phase Nc earthworks. All construction
materials and soil materials placed were verified as suitable, and construction methods were in
accordance with project specifications.
Golder observed excavation of SU in Phase IVc for trench dimensions, slope, and materials used.
Golder observed construction of the geogrid remediation for underground working UG-297 for
dimension, slope, and materials used in accordance with the project plans.
Golder observed anchor trench excavation and backfill in the Phase Nc OSA for proper location and
dimension (2' wide by 3' deep). Anchor trench excavation, backfill and compaction met or
exceeded the requirements of the specifications.
Golder observed placement, compaction, and moisture conditioning of SLF in the Phase Nc OSA
for subgrade preparation, thickness, compaction, moisture content, and materials. The Golder CQA
