Mill Water Return Line/Power Line (19)
^~l
The mill water return line/power line area (14) is being and
will be reclaimed in the same manner discussed for the make-up water
line (15) and the East Branch flood bypass pipeline (17). The access
roadbed along the line (approximately 10 acres) will be the only
reclamation requirement at mine closure.
Seep-water Canal/Pumphouse (20)
The seep-water canal/pumphouse area (20) is shoym as 46
acres of disturbance. The actual area disturbed is approximately 15
acres, but there is a possibility that drifting tailing wi:Ll disturb
more of the area in the future. If so, it will be reveget:ated in a
.manner similar to that described for tailing revegetation. Five of
the 15 disturbed acres are being revegetated. The canal ii:self will
remain intact after mine closure to collect the seep-water for treat-
went as described in Section 9.9.
Topsoil Stockpiles/P.oads (21)
The topsoil stockpiles/roads areas (21) are corridors of 190
acres set aside for the purpose of storing topsoil to aid in reclama-
tion of the tailing. Sufficient topsoil from within the te:iling basin
will be stockpiled to cover the 1314 acres of tailing to a depth of
approximately one foot (approximately 2.1 million yd3 of soil).
Information on specific soils to be stockpiled for reclamation is
presented in Section 6.2.
In 1978, approximately 400,000 yd3 of topsoil will be
removed from just outside the perimeter of the tailing (within the
tailing basin) and stockpiled in Ute Park adjacent to the county road.
This stockpile will be graded to a slope of 3:1 and stabilized with
9-19
