- forest in 1976. Extensive erosion control measures were taken.on the
lower portions of the area to reduce siltation into the reservoir ~~
(potable water) by the placement of excelsior mat.
Power Line/Refuse Area (14)
Disturbance of the power line/refuse area (19) was required
to provide electrical access from the Public Service line to the mill.
The roadway under the power line serves as access to the R.R. gravel
pit and a section along the roadway is being used as a refuse site.
Approximately 10 acres of cuts and fills are presently under reclama-
tion. The refuse area will be reclaimed as it progresses and the
roadbed will be reclaimed to open forest at mine closure.
Make-up Water Line/Pumphouse (151
The make-up water line/pumphouse area (15) was required to
obtain water from the Williams Fork River to replace water consumed
during ore processing. The entire area is being revegetated (planted
in 1976) with the exception of the pumphouse itself and associated
parking area (approximately 1 acre). No trees or shrubs have been or
will be planted over the pipeline because of the possibility of root
interference with the line. There is no roadway along the line.
Natural woody vegetative invasion expected to occur along the line
will not be discouraged and, barring problems which would require
replacement or repair of the line, the area is expected to be well
overgrown with both woody and herbaceous vegetation by mine closure.
At mine closure, the only remaining reclamation will be the dismant-
ling and salvaging of the pumphouse and revegetation of that single
acre along with dismantling of the associated power line.
4-17
