The fill across the <br />valley will remain intact (except for a flood control opening) as will <br />the cut to the mill site because of the impracticality of replacing <br />the fill back into the cut. <br />Mill Yard and Access Roads (5) <br />The mill yard and access roads (5) occupy 95 acr~as. Again, <br />reclamation of 5 acres is in progress leaving 90 acres for reclamation <br />at mine closure. The machinery, buildings, etc., will be ;salvaged, <br />the concrete blasted and buried, the asphalt ripped and buried {leav- <br />ing a good subsoil), and the area revegetated to open forest. <br />Reservoir Shores (6, 7, 8) <br />The shores of the three reservoirs (6, 7, B) comF~rise a <br />total of 59 acres of which 54 acres were revegetated in 19'16 and 1977. <br />The 5 reclaimable acres not yet revegetated are access roads to the <br />facilities. The reservoirs themselves will remain intact sis permanent <br />bodies of water: Steep south facing slopes around the East: Branch <br />pumphouse and steep portions of the Ute Creek Reservoir and Horseshoe <br />intake structure shores were revegetated with excelsior mat: or straw <br />mulch and netting. <br />Tailing Deposition Area (9) <br />The tailing area (9) will be the largest single reclamation <br />undertaking at the Henderson project. As indicated on the map and in <br />Table 5.1, the tailing will ultimately occupy 1,314 acres. At the <br />time of writing (Sept. 1977), the tailing actually occupies; approximately <br />9-13 <br />
