PAR RESPONSE

DATA COLLECTION
GROUND WATER
ALLUVIAL AND SPECIAL WELLS
Water level measurements are to be collected at the locations indicated on
Table 1. All of the measurements are to be taken with the electric water
level indicator (Appendix A.1) or measured directly with a tape or ruler
(Appendix A.2). Since most of the water levels in the wells are shallow,
the ruler method can be used for many of the alluvial wells.
Water quality samples are to be collected at the intervals indicated on
Table 1. The number and type of bottles and the type of field
measurements for each sampling are indicated on Tables 5 to 11. The water
samples are to be collected as described in Appendix B.1.
BEDROCK WELLS
• Water level measurements are to be collected at the locations indicated on
Table 1. The measurements are to be taken with the electric water level
indicator, measured directly with a tape or ruler, measured using an
airline (Appendix A.3), or measured with a pressure gauge (Appendix A.4).
A few wells flow naturally and the water level in these wells is measured
with a pressure gauge. The water supply wells and three of the Middle
Sandstone wells have airlines installed for measuring water levels. When
sampling a water supply well, measure the water level before collecting a
sample and note whether the well was running when measurement was taken.
Also, try to collect the sample as close to the well head as possible and
before the water enters any tank or treatment system. Three Middle
Sandstone wells have pneumatic displacement samplers installed in them.
The water levels should be measured prior to collecting the samples.
Water quality samples are to be collected at the intervals indicated on
Table 1. The number and type of bottles and the type of field
measurements for each sampling are indicated on Tables 5 to 11. The water
samples are to be collected as described in Appendix B.2 (bailer method),
Appendix B.3 (flowing source method), and Appendix 6.4 (pneumatic
displacement sampler).
~~
