<br />Attachment No. 1 <br />Shrub/tree Planting Report For the Seneca II Mine <br />1983 Field Season <br />The following information pertains to the planting of trees <br />and shrubs on the Seneca II Mine during 1983. <br />Approximately 2 acres were planted to ponderosa pine (Pious <br />ponderosa) as shown on the aerial photo. Total trees planted were <br />2,000 and planting was in June. <br />Approximately 6 acres were planted with the following species <br />and numbers: 250 quaking aspen (POpulus tremuloides), 250 skunkbush <br />sumac (Rhus trilobata), 250 mountain mahogany (Cercocarpus montanus), <br />300 chokecherry (Prunus virginiana), 300 serviceberry (Amelanchier <br />alnifolia), 250 curlleaf mountainmahogany (Cercocarpus ledifolius), <br />100 mountain willow (Salix scouleriana), 250 silver buffaloberry (Shepherdia <br />argentea), 50 narrowleaf cottonwood (POpulus angustifolia) and 300 <br />oldman wormwood (Artemisia abrotanum). Planting was in the fall. <br />The following species listed in the previous paragraph were <br />planted adjacent to the reconstructed drainage: Quaking aspen, chokecherry, <br />mountain willow, narrowleaf cottonwood. The remainder of the species <br />were planted on drier sites at least 50 feet away from the drainage. <br />
