Inc, notifying the EPA that AmerAlia intended to transfer "the operation of the mine to Natural <br />Soda, Inc., a subsidiary of AmerAlia, Inc." On Febmary 1, 2001, the EPA issued Final Area <br />Permit No. CO30870-00000 to Natural Soda, Inc. <br />Pursuant to Part III Section B.1 of the Permit and in response to your request, the EPA <br />hereby serves notice of intent to terminate UIC Permit No. CO30870-00000 for Class III <br />injection well solution mining of nahcolite at the Rock School, and the three wells currently <br />authorized under this Permit: Solution Mining Well #1 (CO30870-04626), Solution Mining Well <br />#2 (CO30870-04627), and Solution Mining Well #3 (CO30870-04628). <br />Public Notice of EPA intent to terminate this permit should appear soon in the Meeker <br />Herald and the Rifle Citizen Telegram notifying the public of their opportunity to comment. The <br />public comment period will run for thirty (30) days from the latest date of publication. You may <br />call Ms. Jo Ann Taylor at 800-887-8917 ext. 6152 to obtain the exact deadline for comments. <br />Once the Permit and injection well authorizations are terminated, the complete permitting <br />process, including a new application and the opportunity for public comment will be required <br />should Natural Soda or any other entity choose to pursue Class III injection well solution mining <br />ofnahcolite at the Rock School Lease, Rio Blanco County, Colorado in the future. The EPA will <br />retain the Administrative Record files associated with the above referenced Pennit for a period of <br />at least two years.
