EXHIBIT "E" -RECLAMATION PLAN (Technical Revision 6-20-85, Page 2)
Differential settling will be handled by the crest of the slope being backfilled.
The unconsolidated backfill material then being graded to a 2 1/2:1 slope and then
,J c~n.~-cl.(.
compacted with a sheepsfoot compactor and catapillar. A 3 ft. diversion ditch will ~t~/
~ 7
be placed along the top of the flat edge of the slope and will flow to the west and
connect to a natural drainage stream to prevent any w:xter from flowing onto the
graded slope, thus eliminating the possibility of a separation crack zone. The area
will then be reseeded to yellow sw=et clover (1/2 lb. Jacre) and perennial rye grass
~~
(3 lbs. /acre) for quick corer protection. In the fall of 1985, the seeding will
proceed per the Reclamation Plan seed mixture specifications.
Prevention of head-cutting, and restoration of current head-cut areas will be
tyN' accomplished by placing substantial quantities of rock at the head of the gullies with
tom' she rock then being backfilled with overburden material. The area will then be graded
to a 2 1/2:1 slope, then compacted with a sheepsfoot compactor and reseeded with a
})'~'~ quick corer crop such as perennial rye grass (1/2 lb. lac re) and sweat clover
mixture (3 lbs. /acre) to prevent erosion. In the fall of 1935, seeding will proceed
per the Reclamation Plan seed mixture specifications. Head-cutting has not crossed
any permit boundaries and remedial action will be taken as previously described.
A buffer zone between stripped topsoil and the active highwall face (one scraper
wid`.h in size) will be maintained for the prevention of any topsoil contamination.
The present stockpiled topsoil will be seeded by hand with a mixture of q+aick
J corer sweet closer (1/2 lb. Jacre and perennial rye (3 lbs. /acre) to prevent erosion.
,a he topsoil stockpile will be seeded and not graded to prevent undue disturbance of
~\y1'" the topsoil stockpile. ALl newly stored topsoil will be graded to a 3:1 slope and will
be seeded by hand with a protective quick cover mixture of sweet clover (1/2 lb. /acre)
and perennial rye grass (3 lbs. /acre) to prevent erosion. Approximately 4,000 cubic
yards of topsoil is currently located at the site. (See Mining Map, Exhibit "C").
