Cotter Corporation - C-SR-I1 Mine
Stormwater Management Plan - Permit # COR-040029
February 14, 1994 - Page 3
4. Stormwater Management Controls
a. SWMP Administrator
The SWMP Administrator for this site is Dave Diss, the Environmental Technician
for Cotter Corporation's Western Slope Office.
b. Risk Identification and Assessment
1. Ike #1 Durn - The assessment of the dump revealed that a diversion structure
up gradient from the dump prevents stormwater from running onto the mine site
area. The flat gradient, porous soils and extensive vegetative coverage allow
precipitation to infiltrate into the soil and preclude stormwater runoff.
Ike#2 Dump -The assessment of this dump revealed that an old exploration road
along the toe of the dump retains stormwater runoff; thus, reducing erosion and
preventing sediment delivery to state waters.
Ike #3 Dumg - The assessment of this dump revealed that the access road up
gradient from the mine dump prevents stormwater runon. As the access road
below the mine dump prevents stormwater runoff.
Ike #4 Dump - The assessment of this dump revealed that there is a potential
for stormwater runoff. This runoff can be controlled by implementing Best Management
Practices (BMPs.)
Radium 8 DLIM12 -The assessment of these dumps revealed that there is a potential
for stormwater runoff. This runoff can be controlled by implementing BMPs.
The assessment of the Radium 8 open pit mine revealed that stormwater is contained
within the pit.
Brighton Dump -The assessment of this dump also revealed a potential for stormwater
runoff. This runoff can be controlled by implementing BMPs.
Tomboy DumR - The assessment of this dump revealed that there is a potential
for stormwater runoff. This runoff can be controlled by implementing BMPs.
Mercantile Dumo -The assessment of this dump revealed that there is a potential
for stormwater runoff. This runoff can be controlled by implementing BMPs.
Emma Lou Dumo -The assessment of this dump revealed that there is a potential
for stormwater runoff. This runoff can be controlled by implementing BMPs.
