' to be moved to the site of the Gosney & Sons, Inc. gravel pit approximately two <br />' miles south of Bayfield. <br />Access to the property is provided by US 160 to Bayfield and CR 521 south <br />' approximately 2 miles to the site. Access from the south is <br />.provided through Ignacio via CR 151 and CR 521. CR 521 is a major rural <br />collector with zero to one foot shoulders for approximately 0.6 miles south of <br />' US 160B. This portion of CR 521 is scheduled for resurfacing. La Plata <br />County plans to improve the safety and serviceability of CR 521 in 1992 (2 mi. <br />' completed), 1993 (2 mi.), 1994 (2 ,mi.) and 1996 (0.85 mi.) for a total budgeted <br />t cost of $625,000. The County has already upgraded approximately 5.1 miles <br />' of CR 521 south of the initial 0.6 miles south of Bayfield and has <br />approximately 4.6 mi. left to resurface. The improvements include widening <br />' the travel lanes to 12 feet, resurfacing, construction of two foot aggregate <br />' shoulders, reconstruction of drainage structures and improving the alignment. <br />' Traffic counts made by the County March 18, 1991 South of US 160B indicate <br />' an ADT (average daily traffic) of 1049, and an ADT of 529 north of CR 151 <br />with about 15% to 25% commercial trucks. The County vehicle classification <br />' counts on CR 521 in the vicinity of the site indicate that SU vehicles (single <br />' unit trucks) comprise approximately 7.6% of the total traflc, combinations <br />approximately 17.9 % with the remainder being PCs and PUs (passenger cars <br />' 6 <br />I <br /> <br />
