If any unauthorized sources ofnon-stormwater discharges are noticed at the site, the SW;I~ <br />Administrator will be notified immediately. The source and condition of the discharge will be <br />investigated. If the discharge is perceived to be a potential contaminant source to stormwater or <br />permitted process waters (groundwater dewatering), the Administrator or designated personnel <br />shall notify the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, Water Quality Control <br />Division. <br />6.0 VISUAL INSPECTION <br />A comprehensive inspection of the BMPs by the SV1'MP Administrator, or other designated <br />personnel, will be conducted in the spring and fall each year to insure that all the BMPs are <br />functioning well and any off-site discharges have the best water qualit}• attainable from good <br />management practices. <br />Equipment will be monitored on a daily basis for signs of leaks or spills, by the equipment <br />operator. Anv areas of concern will be evaluated and repaired or monitored based on the opinion <br />of the operator. <br />The active mining areas will also be monitored on a daily basis for signs of erosion or problems, <br />by all the parties on site. Any potential problem areas will be reported to the SWMP <br />Administrator, evaluated and, if needed, corrective measures taken to prevent erosion or <br />contamination of stormwater runoff. if unforeseen erosion occurs, the SV~'IvIP shall be revised as <br />necessary to improve discharged stormwater quality. <br />7,0 RECORD KEEPING AND INTERNAL REPORTING PROCEDURES <br />Records of the comprehensive inspections and a copy of this SV1'R~IP will be kept on- site, and <br />available for inspections by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Em~ironment. <br />The annual SWMP report required by the Colorado Department of Public Health and <br />Environment should include a summary description of the comprehensive inspections as outlined <br />in the permit requirements. This report is due prior to February I S each year. A sample <br />inspection report form is included which may be revised as necessary. <br />Any revised or additional water quality protection procedures implemented will be noted directly <br />on the report or the maps for later incorporation in the SVVMP. If unforeseen erosion occurs, it <br />should be reported to the SWMP Administrator, and the SV1'MP should be revised as necessary to <br />improve discharged stormwater quality. <br />S.0 CONSISTENCY VI'ITH OTHER PLANS <br />The SVVMP shall agree with all other management plans for this facility. In the case of a <br />discrepancy, the items in question shall be evaluated, and a determination made as to which plan <br />w711 provide the best environmental protection for the site. The other plan will be revised as <br />necessary. <br />7 <br />
