2.0 AREA SUBJECT TO EFFLUENT LIMITATIONS
2.1 Description
All runoff from this site would eventually make its way to Monument Creek. All of this property
would, therefore, be tributary to an area that is subject to effluent limitations.
3.0 MAPS
A vicinity map showing general location and a site map indicating features of the site are included
at the end of this narrative as Exhibits 3.l and 3.2, respectively.
4.0 DESCRIPTION OF POTENTIAL POLLUTANT SOURCES/
MATERIAL INVENTORY
4.1 Inventory of Sienificant Materials
Potential pollutants expected to be stored on-site include diesel fuel, gasoline, lubricating and
hydraulic fluids, and engine coolants. Fuel stored on-site includes one 12,000 gallon diesel tank
and one 1,000 gallon gasoline tan}:. The gasoline tank usually contains no more than 300 gallons
of fuel.
Drums are stored away from the active traffic areas to prevent accidents. These outdoor storage
areas have earth berms placed on the downhill side to help prevent accidentai discharges in the
event of a leak or spill. No waste fuel is stored at this site. All drums, stored outdoors containing
any potential Stormw•ater pollutant, are stacked on pallets to prevent contact with water or soils
which could cause corrosion and leaks. Chemicals stored indoors in the maintenance shop are
sited on a concrete floor.
Fuels and new vehicle maintenance fluids have been stored on site since the operation began.
Used vehicle maintenance fluids (waste oils, anti-freeze, spent hydraulic fluids) are stored only
long enough to make pick-up and disposal costs reasonable.
Stockpiles of aggregate products are centrally located west of the shop area. TopsoiUoverburden
stockpiles are located at various places around the site to make reclamation activities more
convenient. Sediment from these stockpiles and from areas that are not fully reclaimed would
also be considered as a potential pollutant. Stockpiles not actively used each day have small
diversion ditches cut around the base to route stormwater runoff away from the stockpiles.
4.2 List of Significant Sills
There are no known significant spills or leaks of toxic or hazardous pollutants at this site:
2
