A portion of the site is located within the Pike National Forest and a small <br />part of the property is located within the corporate boundaries of Colorado Springs. Access to <br />the site is from Allegheny Drive. <br />1 2 Area <br />This mining site consists of approximately 150 acres. The total disturbed area at any given time <br />of the mining operation would be approximately 80 acres. <br />1.3 Description of Operation <br />This is an existing limestone aggregate quarry operation using dry mining techniques not requiring <br />dewateting of the site. Aggregate extraction generally occurs from the west to the east. <br />Processing occurs on-site in the central and northern portion of the permit area. <br />An office and scale are located along the access road for the site. Haul routes within the site <br />move frequently to coincide with the area under mining activity. <br />1 <br />
