North Edee of Dump: Slopes and Gradients:
The north edge of the waste dump is within a ten feet of the boundary line. The map
symbols used do not denote toes and crests. Slope gradients need to be provided.
Response:
The existing waste dump does in fact come very close to the original area boundary.
The Operator is submitting a Proposed Affected Area boundary, as shown on the 1" = 100'
site map submitted herewith, to more fully encompass all site disturbances. The Proposed
Affected Area boundary as depicted on the new site map is intended to allow site reclamation
to be conducted within the limits of the proposed site.
All site features were surveyed in the summer and fall of 2002 using a GPS. For every
measurement point on the map, an elevation is available as wells as the `x' and `y' locations
of the points. Spot elevations have been printed on the map to aid in developing slope angles
and to facilitate final reclamation gradients. The enclosed map does not show final site
closure and reclamation features. A reclamation map will be submitted upon reaching
concurrence with the Division on the existing affected area under the Permit.
Delineate Disturbed Areas, Reclaimed, etc.:
The site map needs to show all disturbed areas, undisturbed areas, areas in
reclamation, umeclaimed areas, etc. The map needs to show features that will be left at the
site, and all features to be removed should be taken off the map.
Response:
The updated site map submitted herewith shows all current site features. As noted
above, upon reaching concurrence with the Division on the Affected Area boundary, the
Operator will provide a final reclamation map, which will show which features are to be
removed and those that will remain.
Building Size:
The original map shows the building as being 90' x 50'. Provide the correct
size as this affects bond calculations.
Response:
The building is 50' x 40'.
Site Man Omissions:
The map submitted by the Operator in 1998 does not have a reference point to tie the
Affected Area boundary to an established section corner.
Response:
The new site map submitted herewith addresses the noted omission.
North Arrow not Labeled:
The north arrow on the map submitted by the Operator in 1998 is not identified as to
whether the north arrow is "true" or "magnetic" north.
Response:
The revised map submitted herewith has the north arrows labeled.
