JUDE MINE PERMIT M-1978-039 HR <br />March 2003 <br />Received- <br />MAR 2 7 203 <br />@uraRgo ~l~k~ alrlce <br />~iri~ien 9f Minefgls b faeotoQr <br />The following review of items noted in Inspection Reports and Division correspondences, <br />which have been submitted to the Operator during the period that the current Operator has <br />controlled the Permit, is intended to clarify outstanding issues and to ensure no issues are <br />overlooked. <br />July 10, 1997 Inspection by Bob Oswald and Harry Posey: <br />Permit Boundary Markers: <br />No corner markers exist to delineate the Affected Area boundary. <br />Resnonse: <br />The Operator is submitting a Proposed Affected Area boundary herewith. Upon <br />reaching concurrence with the Division on the Affected Area boundary, the corners will be <br />marked in the field. <br />Permit Identification Sign: <br />The Permit identification sign does not show the current Operator. <br />Response: <br />In January 2002 the Operator installed a correct Permit identification sign and <br />provided photographic evidence. <br />Topsoil Storage Areas: <br />The original site map showed two topsoil storage locations. <br />Response: <br />One sizable topsoil storage pile exists in the southeast corner of the mine site. This <br />pile has been shown on the enclosed 1" = 100' site map. <br />June 2.1998 Letter from Division: <br />Topsoil Stockpiles: <br />The 1978 site map shows two topsoil stockpiles, but only one was noted in the 1997 <br />inspection. Provide correct depiction of stockpiles and provide an estimate of the volume. <br />Response: <br />The main topsoil stockpile is located in the southeast corner of the mine site. The pile <br />has an estimated volume of 600 yd'. Additional soil can be salvaged along the slope to the <br />west of the stockpile. The 1" = 100' map submitted herewith shows the current topsoil <br />storage location. <br />Stonnwater/Sediment Control Structures: <br />The site map does not show the location of the stormwater/sediment control structures. <br />Response: <br />The 1" = 100' map submitted herewith shows the sediment and runoff control <br />structures. <br />1 <br />
