SITE INSPECTION

This site was physically inspected on January 14, ]994. This researcher drove around the
perimeter of each of the parcels to begin a visual inspection.
Parcel 1 is divided into two halves each containing approximately 50 acres each. Both are
located in Section ]2. There are no permanent structures on these parcels. Small lateral
irrigation ditches are used to irrigate these sites. Parcel ]-B, as shown on the Vicinity Map, is
adjacent to a farm house. This structure is inhabited and the surrounding area is clean and free
of trash and weeds.
Parcel 2 is in the northwest quarter of Section 11. This parcel is also irrigated cropland with one
old house and bam in the southeast comer of the site. The cropland here is also irrigated from
the Holly Ditch. The house is in a bad state of disrepair, and is practically falling down on itself.
The barn structure is in better shape, but still is not particularly serviceable. the house shows no
sign of asbestos use in the construction. There are no signs of ground level contamination azound
the house or bam.
Parcel 3 is located in Section 16, on the north side of Highway 50. The only physical
"- improvement on Parcel 3 is a portion of the Holly Ditch that runs northwest to southwest across
- the west half of this site.
Parcel 4 is a portion of the southeast quarter of Section 9. This area is also irrigated cropland
_- with the only physical improvement being a portion of the Holly Ditch which runs west to east
in the northern portion of the site.
Parcel 5 is the southwest quarter of Section 8. There is a spur of the Atchison, Topeka, and
Santa Fe Railroad that crosses this property from the northwest comer to the approximate center
of the east side. No other physical structures or improvements are on this site. No obvious signs
of contamination were noted along the railroad tracks.
Parcel 6 is located in the east half of Section 8 and contains a portion of the railroad. •the
northside of the site is bounded by a portion of the Holly Ditch. There is a 7.87 acre area in this
parcel that is not owned by the Fsgar Corporation. No signs of contamination were noted at hte
adjacent property or along the railroad tracks.
Parcel 7 is located on the east side of Holly. This parcel is between Highway 50 and the
Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe Railroad. This parcel is irrigated cropland with no improvements
to the site. No signs of contamination along the railroad tracks were noted.
SURROUNDING LAND
All the surrounding lands of Parcel 1 through 7 are irrigated croplands. Some homes exist on
K the surrounding lands, and all were reasonable well-kept. No environmental problems were noted
with the adjacent properties.
3
