The management practices suitable for use on this unit era proper <br />grazing use and a planned grazing system. Brush management improves <br />deteriorated areas of range that are producing more woody shrubs than <br />were present in the potential plant community. <br />This unit provides wildlife habitat for mule deer, cottontails, <br />hawks, and eagles. <br />If this unit is used for recreational development, the main <br />limitations are dustiness and slopes greater than 8 percent. <br />If the Barx soil is used for homesite development, the main <br />limitations are slopes greater than 8 percent and moderate shrink- <br />swell potential. If the Progresso soil is used for homesite <br />development, the main limitations are depth to bedrock, moderate <br />shrink-swell potential and slopes greater than 8 percent. If the Barx <br />and Progresso soils are used for septic tank absorption fields, the <br />limitation of moderate permeability can b• overcome by increasing the <br />size of the absorption field. <br />This map unit is in capability subclass VIe, nonirrigated. The <br />Barx soils are in Semidesert Sandy Loam 1326 rang• site and the <br />Progresso soils are in Semidesert Loam N325 rang• site. <br />,, <br />•~7 <br />
