WeII Field Service Road
Cut =156,176 cy
Fill = 234,096 cy
Temporary Roads in 0-5 year mine panel
Cut =112,440 cy
Fi11= 49,389 cy
The road and piping system for the areas beyond the 0-5 year panel will not be
defined. We suggest that, if you believe it necessary to estimate cut and fill volumes
and detailed disturbance for the future panels, the 0-5 year numbers can be ratioed to
the total panel size to yield disturbance ar cut and fill per acre. These ratios can then
be applied to the size of the future panels. This approach should be representative
of the level of disturbance.
15. Temporary and permanent access roads present the single greatest potential impact to
soils and vegetation due to the complete clearing of vegetation and increased potential for soil
erosion. We need a reasonably estimated area of disturbance for access roads to quantify
impacts.
The following are estimated disturbances by category and include consideration of
cut and fill slopes. Well field-related disturbances are for the 0-5 year panel only.
Additional disturbance far construction is also estimated and includes such
considerations as temporary earth storage, laydown areas, and topsoil and timber
stockpiling. The well field-related construction disturbances are probably
conservative because future pad areas can be used to reduce temporary disturbances
for construction stockpiling.
7
