c. The pipeline system used to supply injection brine to, and recover <br />production brine from, the well field will be flushed, drained, and sealed <br />until such time as the operations aze reactivated. <br />d. Instrumentation skids at well sites that may be reactivated will be shut <br />down, locked, and left in place. <br />e. Required electrical power will remain to supply power as needed to <br />conduct preventive maintenance procedures during the temporary <br />suspension period. <br />3. Monitoring, Record Keeping, and Reporting of Results. <br />The permittee is required to carry out the applicable activities during Temporary <br />Suspension, as described in the Groundwater and Surface Water Monitoring Plan <br />(Appendix I) and Subsidence Monitoring Plan (Appendix J). <br />a.. Well Field Monitoring Program. The monitoring requirements for Class <br />III wells aze specified in 40 CFR 146.33. Samples and measurements shall <br />be representative of the monitored activity. The permittee shall utilize the <br />applicable analytical methods described in Table 1 of 40 CFR 136.3, or in <br />Appendix III of 40 CFR 261, or in certain circumstances, by other methods <br />that have been approved by the EPA Administrator. American Soda's <br />monitoring program shall follow those requirements and shall include <br />these elements: <br />+ . Mechanical integrity testing shall be performed on the well's <br />casing once the temporary plugs aze in place. To fulfill the <br />requirements of 40 CFR 144.52(a)(6), a mechanical integrity test <br />(MIT) is required at least every two years for as long as the well is <br />in temporary suspension status. <br />Results of any MIT(s) shall be submitted in the first quarterly <br />monitoring report after the MTT has been conducted and shall <br />include the following information: <br />o date, time, and interval of each MIT measurement; <br />o individual(s) who performed the MTT measurements; <br />o dates of calibration of the MIT' equipment; <br />o techniques and equipment used to collect MIT <br />measurements. <br />The test pressure during an MIT performed to demonstrate <br />non-endangennent during the temporary suspension period shall be <br />no less than 300 psi.
