21 ROAD PIT
M-93-063
1.) This site has been revegetated at the same time that the adjoining Persigo Pit was
reseeded. The approved seed mix was used, at the recommended application rate. This
seeding was done in late November, with some small areas being completed in the first
week of December. This overlap into December was caused by a scheduling conflict
with the crew and equipment. The island that is common to the Persigo Pit and this site
was seeded in 1996.
Evaluation of the emerging grasses will be performed in the spring of ]499. If the
sprouting is determined to be inadequate, additional seeding will be done in the spring.
Irrigation water is available at this site, making it possible to apply water to enhance
growth if natural precipitation is not adequate.
As with the adjacent Persigo Pit, aweed-spraying program was completed in September
of this year. The most significant weed problem at this site is the occurrence of annual
weeds, primarily kochia. Follow-up spraying will be done if necessary this coming
spring.
Page 3
