9. Completion date. The project, as noted in Item 7, is projected to be completed by summer 2008.
10. Location of stockpiles for topsoil, overburden, etc, if any. Exploration pad construction will start with
removal of topsoil material. Topsoil material (A and B horizon) will be salvaged and stored, in an area
that will be undisturbed, along the uphill margin of the exploration pad. The topsoil stockpiles will be
marked with a "topsoil material "sign. If subsoil materials also need to be removed during pad
construction they will be stockpiled separately from the topsoil materials. Stockpiled subsoil materials, if
applicable, will also be stored and marked with a sign, in an area that will be undisturbed along the uphill
margin of the exploration pad.
CCR does not anticipate constructing any roads to access the exploration pad sites, consequently, there
will be no soil material stockpiles associated with road construction.
11. Drainage control on site. Drainage control at the drill-sites will be through an integrated system, using
grading and berms to limit and control surface runoff, mud pits excavated within the footprint of the pad to
contain all drilling fluids, and either rock check-dams, silt fence, or straw bales/wattles installed at the low
point of the drill- pad to contain sediment and control any discharge.
12. All roads to be used for project, and existing conditions of roads, and anticipated improvements: Existing
Routt County road, coal haulage roads, ranch roads, and jeep trails will be used to access the drill-sites,
except for limited overland routes that may be necessary to access individual drill-sites. A majority of the
existing roads are either asphalt or graveled and are adequate for the intended purposes of the exploration
project.
Environmental Analysis (Provide the following information for the checked items)
0 Geologic hazards
Q Mitigation techniques proposed for geologic hazards
~ Hydrologic hazards
~ Mitigation techniques for hydrologic hazards
Q Wildlife impacts -Report from Division of Wildlife
~ Suggested mitigation (from Division of Wildlife)
0 Wildfire hazards (report from State Forester)
~ Mitigation techniques for wildfire hazards
~ Soils: Erosion control management practices -report from Soil Conservation Service
See attached report.
Petitioner shall provide a report on the following:
1.
