<br />RMR-CURE-6000-003 5 <br />27. The permittee shall be responsible for the cleanup of any fuel or other <br />materials spilled on park-administered lands during operations. <br />28. The clearing of vegetation and surface disturbance shall be held to the <br />. minimum required and shall be carried out in accordance with the Plan of <br />Operation. Vegetative debris and slash shall be removed and disposed of <br />- outside the NRA in an approved location, except for material used for <br />reclamation. The burning of debris and slash is prohibited. <br />29. Use of pesticides and/or herbicides in the operations azea on NRA lands <br />is strictly prohibited unless approved in writing by the Superintendent. <br />30. Sight distance and traffic control/warning signing at the junction of <br />the gravel pit access road and U.S. Highway 50 will be in accordance with <br />the standards of the Colorado Department of Highways. During operations, <br />a sign approved by the Superintendent will be posted at the access road gate <br />to prevent unauthorized entry by park visitors. Materials and labor for <br />construction of sign will be provided by the park. <br />31. All accidents, including those involving on-site property damage, <br />collision, upset, fire, personal injury or death shall be immediately reported <br />to the Chief Ranger, Curecanti NRA. This report does not relieve the <br />persons from the responsibility of making any other accident reports which <br />may be required by the Stale. <br />32. Based upon [he Plan of Operations, the operator shall be required to <br />file with the Superintendent a suitable performance bond with satisfactory <br />surety. The bond shall be conditioned upon faithful compliance with <br />applicable regulations, terms, conditions of the permit, and the Plan of <br />Operations, as approved, revised, or supplemented. <br />33.• In lieu of a performance bond, the operator may elect to: (1) deposit <br />with the Secretary, or his designee, cash or negotiable bonds of the U.S. <br />Government; or (2) fulfill the bonding requirements of the State of <br />Colorado, Division of Mined Land Reclamation. The cash deposit, market <br />value of securities, or bond with the State of Colorado shall be at least equal <br />to the required sum of the bond. <br />34.• The bond or security deposit shall be in an amount equal [o the estimated <br />cost of completion of reclamation requirements either in their entirety or in <br />a phased schedule for their completion as set forth in the approved, <br />supplemented, or revised Plan of Operations. <br />35.• It should be noted that a bond in the amount of not less than $2,000, <br />conditioned upon compliance with all the terms and conditions of the <br />approved Plan of Operations, must be furnished to the Superintendent prior <br />to entry and commencement of operations.
