TASK 4. NO NAME DRAINAGE STABILIZATION
DESCRIPTION
Stabilization will involve the regrading of the southwest corner of the graded
refuse area pit. An area approximately 55-feet wide and 200-feet long has
been damaged by water from an overlying watershed. The CONTRACTOR will
regrade the gullied area and create a 1.2-foot deep, triangular-shaped
streambed with 4:1 sideslopes. Care must be taken to create a smooth
transition from the natural stream channel to the new streambed created in the
gullied area. Revegetation of the newly constructed Swale will be assisted by
the installation of 1600 square feet of "Miramat" erosion control fabric or
equivalent, along this channel.
(Please NOTE: Revegetation efforts at this location must be completed before
installation of the "Miramat" fabric).
MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT
4a. There will be no measurement for payment for this bid item. Payment for
the grading portion of this item shall be reflected in a lump sum bid
price under Item 4a.
4b. "Miramat" erosion control fabric installed will be measured to the
nearest square foot. Payment for the "Mirimat" purchase and installation
shall be for the quantity used, at the price quoted under Item 4.b on the
bid schedule.
Payment will be full compensation for all labor, material, equipment and all
other items necessary to complete this bid item as specified.
TASK 5. REVEGETATION
DESCRIPTION
This specification covers preparing the areas for seeding and for furnishing
and placing seed, fertilizers, and soil amendments on the designated areas as
specified. Areas disturbed during reclamation work which are to be
revegetated include the redisturbed tipple area, the topsoil pile and regraded
point areas, the reclaimed Orphan Pit, the red rock area, the Reclamation Haul
Road, No Name Drainage, four previously graded areas, and the re-worked
gullies in the West Pit (Maps 1 and 2 and Exhibit 2). This amounts to
approximately 34 acres.
MATERIALS
Seed
All seed shall conform to the current rules and regulations of the State of
Colorado and the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Unless exception is granted
by the PROJECT MANAGER, seed shall be thoroughly pre-mixed (except for
legumes) in the required proportions and delivered to the work site in bags or
-8-
