D. Pond A Sediment Removal <br />Pond A on the G.E.C. minesite is located adjacent to County Road 92 in <br />the NW1/4 SEl/4 of Section 19 (Map 1 and Exhibit 1). This pond has <br />filled with sediment from the upland watershed. Remove 5.2 acre feet <br />(8873 cubic yards) of sediment from below the top of the riser pipe and <br />replace in the streambed for approximately 1500 feet upstream, ensuring <br />that positive drainage is maintained during placement as well as in the <br />final configuration. <br />E. West Pit Gully Repair - Section 30 <br />The G.E.C. West Pit (Map 1) was reclaimed in 1986. This pit incurred <br />substantial gullying when it was first reclaimed. On the west facing <br />slope the gullies must be graded closed along the contour either with <br />manual labor or a small piece of equipment. <br />MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT <br />There will be no measurement for payment for Bid Item 2. Payment for this <br />item shall be reflected in a lump-sum price, under Item 2. The Division has <br />estimated the volume of material to be moved (Exhibit 1). However, bidders <br />are responsible for making their own volume determinations. Payment will be <br />full compensation for all labor, material, equipment, and all other items <br />necessary to complete this bid item as specified. <br />TASK 3. TOPSOIL REPLACEMENT <br />DESCRIPTION <br />There are two topsoil stockpiles approximately 1800 feet south of the Orphan <br />Pit (Map 2>. These stockpiles contain approximately 3000 cubic yards of <br />material. In addition, all topsoil should be stripped in advance from the <br />point between two depressions in the Orphan Pit and from the higher area of <br />the northeast portion of the Orphan Pit area. This topsoil is to be placed on <br />the regraded area at a depth of six inches (6"), beginning along the covered <br />west side highwall and working along the contours of the steepest regraded <br />areas until this material is totally used. Topsoil material salvaged from the <br />point area shall be respread over the reworked point area. If any is left <br />after a six inch (6") depth is replaced, it shall be placed to a depth of <br />twelve inches (12") on the steepest remaining areas of the regraded pit. <br />All tipple waste material must be covered with a minimum of twelve inches <br />(12"> of material from the point and northeast area, in conjunction with <br />topsoil from the topsoil stockpile areas. The twelve inches (12") of cover <br />includes any topsoil replaced over the other fill material. <br />MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT <br />There will be no measurement for payment for Bid Item 3. Payment for this <br />item shall be reflected in a lump-sum price, under Item 3.
