with the final progress payment for the work if demobilization has been
completed. If the price bid for mobilization and demobilization is greater
than 15 percent (15°0> of the total contract price, invoices supporting the
mobilization costs will be required before payment is approved.
Remobilization
If remobilization becomes necessary due to seasonal conditions beyond the
CONTRACTOR'S control, remobilization costs will be paid based on documented
actual costs. No remobilization payment will be made if delays necessitating
remobilization were the CONTRACTOR'S responsibility.
TASK 2. PIT HIGHWALL GRADING AND OTHER EARTHWORK
DESCRIPTION
A. Orphan Pit
Reclamation of the 125-foot diameter, 30-foot deep Orphan Pit and the
associated 30-foot high, 400-foot long highwall to 2:1 (H:V) will involve
the import of approximately 6,800 cubic yards of material and a cut of
14,000 cubic yards (Map 2 and Exhibit 1). Approximately 3000 cubic yards
of concrete and coal waste will be moved 2800 foot south from the shop
area and 1000 foot south from the haul road. These materials shall be
placed at the bottom of the pit. Roughly 800 cubic yards of red rock
clinker will be moved 2100 feet south to the Orphan Pit. Roughly 14,000
cubic yards of material will be cut predominately from an area 600 feet
north of the pit and highwall. The balance of the material will be
topsoil, as described in Task 3.
The current configuration of the area is shown by Map 3; the final
configuration by Map 4. Backfilling must extend to the top of the
highwall on the west side of the pit. No highwall reduction or
disturbance above this highwall shall take place. Rough graded slopes
shall not be steeper the 2:1 (h:v). The high point (point area) between
the two low areas must be reduced to blend with the remainder of the
grading work.
B. Haul Road
The Reclamation Haul Road between County Road 93 (aka Curby Ranch Road)
and the Orphan Pit is approximately 2600-feet long, and 25-feet wide
(Map 2>. This road needs to be ripped south of the well manhole
following removal of any coal fines.
C. Tipple Pond
The tipple pond embankment (Map 2 and Exhibit 1) must be removed by
grading the approximately 2000 cubic yards of material across a 0.5 acre
area in a manner that achieves positive drainage to the east.
-6-
