Mining Phase
Year or Activity Description of Minims and Other Disturbance Activities
Phase 4 Only
5-6 Slurry Wall If PSCo. doesn't grant permission to cross their right-of--way, then
approximately 1 year prior to beginning mining in Mining Phase 4, the slurry
wall will be installed around the area north of the PSCo. right-of--way. The
proposed slurry wall setbacks are 10' from any property line, except along the
S. Platte River side. In this area, starting at from the PSCo. right-of--way, the
slurry wall will be located IO' west of the Sinclair gasoline pipeline.
Calculations on the lineal footage of slurry wall are included on Exhibit C-2,
Mining Plan Map.
Mining
7-10 Phase 4 Phase 4 mines 99± acres over a 4± year period and encompasses Parcel D-3.
This 99± acres does not include acreage within the low flow channel of the S.
Platte River east of the Adams County trail easement area, but does include
some area within 400' of the S. Platte River channel along portions of the
eastem boundary ofParcel D-3 as the mining limit follows the trail easement
and then the Sinclair pipeline. The mining does include construction of a ditch
along the boundary with the PSCo. right-of--way to convey irrigation tail and
drainage water to the S. Platte River to replace the ditch that presently crosses
Parcel D-3. As muting within 400' of the S. Platte River channel requires
approval by UD&FCD and agreement on what S. Platte River channel
improvements should be installed as a condition of approval, no mining will
occur without such approval and agreement. This 400' area and the proposed
mining setback area is shown on Exhibit C-2, Mining Plan Map.
Mining
7-10 Phase 4 Mining is proposed within 200' of the Sinclair Pipeline along the eastern
side of the phase. No mining shall be allowed within 200' of the Sinclair
Pipeline without an agreement by Sinclair or approval by the DMG of
a lesser setback based on a revised slope stability study. This 200' area
and the proposed mining setback are shown on Ezhibit C-2, Mining Plan
Map. In addition, as with Phase 3, mining is proposed within 200' of the
five PSCo. towers, and no mining shall be allowed within 200' of these
towers without an agreement PSCo., or in the event an acceptable license
agreement cannot be obtained, approval by the DMG of a lesser setback
with appropriate conditions based on a revised Slope Stability Analysis.
/tem #7- .Sorenson's comments
