Mining Phase
Year or Activity Description of Mining and Other Disturbance Activities
Mining
2-3 Phase 2- Phase 2 mines 50± acres over a 2± year period and includes Parcel D-1 and
part of Parcel D-2. This 50+ acres does not include acreage within the low
flow channel of the S. Platte River east of the proposed Adams County trail
easement azea, but does include a 100' area within 400' of the S. Platte River
channel along the southern boundary ofParcels D-1 and D-2. The mining will
include construction of a ditch to along the PSCo. right-of--way to convey
irrigation tail and drainage water to the S. Platte River to replace the ditch
that presently crosses along the boundary of Phases 2 and 3 to the S. Platte
River. In the interim, this water may be allowed to flow into the excavated
area, and then be discharge by pumping to the S. Platte River in accordance
with an approved discharge permit, if required. As mining within 400' of the
S. Platte River channel requires approval by UD&FCD and agreement on
what S. Platte River channel improvements should be installed as a condition
of approval, no mining will occur within 400' of the S. Platte River channel
without approval and agreement by UD&FCD. The 400' area and the
proposed mining setback area are shown on Exhibit C-2, Mining Plan Map.
Mining
4-6 Phase 3 Phase 3 mines 82+ acres over a 3+ year period and includes the remaining part
of Parcel D-2. This 82+ acres does not include acreage within the low flow
channel of the S. Platte River east of the Adams County trail easement area,
but does include some area within 400' of the S. Platte River channel along
portions of the eastern boundary of Parcel D-2 as the mining limit follows the
trail easement and then the Sinclair pipeline. As mining within 400' of the S.
Platte River channel requires approval by UD&FCD and agreement on what
S. Platte River channel improvements should be installed as a condition of
approval, no mining will occur within 400' of the S. Platte River without
approval and agreement by UD&FCD. The 400' area and the proposed mining
setback area are shown on Exhibit C-2, Mining Plan Map. A small area of
mining is proposed within 200' of the Sinclair Pipeline along the eastern
side of the phase. No mining shall be allowed within 200' of the Sinclair
Pipeline without an agreement by Sinclair or approval by the DMG of
a lesser setback based on a revised slope stability study. This 200' area
and the proposed mining setback are shown on Exhibit C-2, Mining Plan
Map. The northern boundary of this phase is proposed within 200' of the
five PSCo. towers. No mining shall be allowed within 200' of these towers
without an agreement PSCo., or in the event an acceptable agreement
cannot be obtained, approval by the DMG of a lesser setback with
appropriate conditions based on a revised Slope Stability Analysis. /tern
#7 - Sorenson's commenu
7
