Mining Phase
~~ or Activity Desc~tion of Mining and Other Disturbance Activities
Mining
t Phase 1B The proposed mining setbacks are: 50' from any of the three PSCo. towers,
the existing high bank along the east side of the S. Platte River (with
UD&FCD approval), 65' from the inside top of the high bank of the
Fulton Ditch /tem #7- Sorenson's comments, and 35' from the nearest non-
pressurized water discharge pipeline in the southwest corner of the property.
Once again, the last setback would also mean that the closest mining would
be 85'± to any of the PSCo. tower structures and much more than 35' [o a
proposed second non-pressurized water pipeline and the existing Sinclair
gasoline pipeline. The Easement Detail on Exhibit C-2, Mining Plan Map
shows the location of the easement for this pipeline and the other two
pipelines in this area.
Installation of
Conveyor- At the same time Phase 1 A and 1 B are being excavated another activity that
is expected to take place the 1"year is the installation of the conveyor across
the S. Platte River. The conveyor will need a minimum of two support
structures in the otherwise undisturbed S. Platte River channel area. Approval
of UD&FCD and a Floodplain Use permit will be obtained for construction
of these support structures.
Phase 2-4
Slurry Wall- The Snal activity during the first year will be installation of the slurry wall for
the Cooley Reservoir. This slurry wall will either encompass the entire Cooley
Reservoir area by crossing the PSCo. right-of--way in two places, if approved
by PSCo. Item #7-Sorenson's comments, or be installed only around the
area south of the PSCo. right-of--way. The proposed slurry wall setbacks are
] 0' from any property line, except along the S. Platte River side. In this area,
starting at McKay Road, the slurry wall will be setback a minimum of 75' from
the bank along the River, then be located 10' west of the easement being
conveyed to Adams County for trail construction, then be located 10' west of
the Sinclair gasoline pipeline. Calculations on the lineal footage of slurry wall
are included on Exhibit C-2, Mining Plan Map.
6
