1. Mine Site
a. The two topsoil piles adjacent to the County Road 77 mine access road.
Both piles total 800 cubic yards of material. Technical Revision No. 7
provides the SAE demonstrations for these two piles totaling 0.15
acres. This topsoil was derived from widening the access road in 1982
when the road was privately owned. The Division has approved the
use to the topsoil for the reclamation of the portal area. The operator
has committed to scarifying, seeding, and mulching the topsoil
footprints.
b. The area to be reclaimed, referred to as the "Gulden Quality tipple
site," totaling 0.12 acres. This previously disturbed azea currently
drains to the lower bench pond, which will be n°moved with the final
reclamation plan approval in TR-07. The SAE demonstration for this
site has been submitted with TR-07. This site will use a silt fence for
sediment control.
c. The slopes of the Lewis Gulch Fill will again be exposed once removal
of the fill is accomplished. Therefore, the operator has committed to
regrading, seeding, and mulching of the slopes, totaling 0.75 acres. A
silt fence placed along the length at the toe of the disturbed slopes has
been proposed as sediment control. The SAE demonstrations have been
submitted with TR-07 for this reclamation scenario.
2. Sales Site
There are no SAE's currently at the sales site, nor are any plammed for the
fmal reclamation. All surfaces will be graded to drain downgradient east-
wazdly into the currently permitted sediment pond.
B. Stream Channel Diversions
There are no stream channel diversions associated with the Twin Pines No. 2
Mine.
C. Sediment Ponds
The mine site has two sediment ponds, referred to as the upper bench and lower
sediment pond. The lower sediment pond is incised into the outslope of the
downstream face of the Lewis Gulch Fill. This fill is intended to be removed
during the reclamation operations to commence in 1995. Removal of the fill
constitutes a removal of the lower sediment pond. Technical Revision No. 7
provides for alternative sediment control for the minimal azeas currently routed
into this pond. Pond design criteria can be found on pages 72 to 80 of the
permit application.
The sales site has only one sediment pond, which serves as the only structure
for treatment of surface flow on the site. All sedimentation ponds have been
designed utilizing standard engineering practices to retain the runoff from a
G
22
