Response:
As noted in the preceding comments, the Operator is ready to mark Affected Area
boundaries upon reaching concurrence with the Division on the Proposed Affected Area
boundary as shown on the 1" = 100' map submitted herewith.
Revised Maps:
The outstanding Corrective Action requiring the submittal of revised maps has not yet
been addressed.
Response:
Revised site maps are submitted herewith.
October 7, 2002 Letter from Division:
General Location Map:
The General Location Map (1" = 300") is very useful; if the Operator does not want to
provide this map with each of the five mine permits in this area, it should at least be provided
with the two 112 Permits.
Response:
Per the suggestion by the Division, the Operator is providing duplicate copies of the
Genera] Location Map for the West Sunday 112 Permit. The General Location Map has also
been submitted with the Sunday Mine 112 Permit update. The General Location Map has not
been provided with each of the local 110 Permits, but reference has been made to the map
located in the 112 Permit files.
Description of Site Features:
A complete description of all site features is required so that determinations can be made
about which historical features can be eliminated from the list of reclaimable disturbances.
Descriptions of pre-Law features must be adequate to determine if hazards exist.
Response:
To the best of this Operator's knowledge, there are no historical or pre-Law features
(other than BLM roads) at the mine site or within the Permit area.
Vent Sites and Related Features:
The three West Sunday vent holes (WS-1, WS-2, WS-3) were added to the West Sunday
Mine Permit under Technical Revisions TR-O1 and TR-02. These features, and related roads and
structures, need to be shown on a map for this Permit. Explain why there is no power line shown
leading into the WS vent holes from one of the portals below the ridge.
Response:
The separate map WEST SUNDAY MINE, PERMIT M-1981-021, ROADS AND VENT
HOLES, 1" = 200', is submitted herewith. This map includes all of the requested information.
A power line into the general area of the WS vent holes was not shown as the surveyor
did not follow this line out of the immediate area. The main line does not belong to the
Operator, and is therefore not shown in its entirety on the Operator's maps.
5
